A thoughtful blend of old and new, designed for everyday modern living.
This renovation transformed a traditional century home into a cohesive, open-concept space with a seamless new rear addition.
What began as a plan to refresh the existing layout evolved into a complete reimagining of the main floor, relocating the kitchen into the addition and introducing a mudroom and powder room in its former footprint.
The expansive new kitchen serves as a functional centrepiece, seamlessly connecting with the home’s existing areas.
Visual calm is achieved through repetition, continuity, and symmetry, while a contemporary two-island layout provides multiple work zones, casual dining, and optimal views of both the exterior and interior living spaces.
Contrasting finishes and natural textures thoughtfully blend traditional and modern elements, reflecting the homeowners’ distinct styles.
Adjacent, a highly functional mudroom maximizes storage through thoughtful details: hanging coat storage, internal drawers for bulk household supplies and seasonal accessories, pull-out shoe storage, a bench with hooks above, and even a ledge for sunglasses and keys.
Above the kitchen, the new primary ensuite bathroom was designed to feel serene and sophisticated.
Warm walnut cabinetry, soft quartz countertops, and large-format stone-look tiles set a refined tone, while floating cabinetry, a curbless shower, and layered glass and mirror visually expand the space, creating a spa-like retreat.
